Well, you know, waste not want not. :D I was in Stoke today, as a matter of fact, sussing out the delights of Hanley. I could have dropped some off if I'd thought, assuming you're still there.

I'm afraid I owe you an apology. I made the cake - a nice choclate one (chomp, slurp) but I sort of (guzzle, gulp) erm, ate it. All the crumbs, too. (Burp). So sorry about that. And my diet. I can assure you none of it was wasted.

Ha ha - you just missed us. We got there jsjt after 11. Hanley was surprisingly good. Daughter's a vegan so soon found the local Holland and Barratt, which is good for that stuff. Animal rights people were also doing a demo that day, so she introduced herself and got some contact details.
Actually your superior knowledge may come in useful as regards food shopping. Convenience stores near the campus don't really have anything to appeal, apart from booze (good little chip shop, though). We were going to hunt down the Sainsburys which is apparently the nearest supermarket, to check it had Alpro soya milk, soya yogurts etc. Any idea whether they do, and best way to get to it? Sorry if the excitement's too much. ;-)
Shame about that remaining week at work. Hope it goes well. Just see it as the last lap.

Yes, all homemade and all from special Spangles recipes. Have as much as you like. This one is a traditional fruit cake. And here is a coffee and walnut cake. This is a rich chocolate cake with gooey icing. And here is a Victoria sponge filled with cherry jam. Would you like tea or coffee with it?

As long as you don't mind bits missing where it's been eaten. Oh - I'm hungry now.

Hang on, Inky, just putting the finishing touches to it this morning. If only!

The filming went well, thanks. Although we had to redo things several times to get it all in. The series is The Great British Bake-off and I crop up in episode 5, on pastry.

As a matter of fact, I'm doing more filming tomorrow. For a different TV series, on a different topic, with a different presenter. I can only hope they've supplied me with a huge Winnebago that befits my megastar status.
